Gina Thompson

Gina Thompson is the Director of Nursing at Hillside Detox Center. She has been a dedicated leader at Hillside since its opening, helping to shape the center’s mission and clinical excellence from day one. Gina began her nursing career with a strong foundation in orthopedics, neurosurgery, and emergency medicine before transitioning her focus to mental health addiction medicine, where she found her true passion.

Having been personally touched by the loss of loved ones to addiction, Gina brings a sense of deep purpose to her work. She is fueled by her personal experience and driven by a belief in recovery, patient dignity, and the critical role of nursing in supporting individuals and their families during their most vulnerable moments. She leads with empathy, clinical expertise, and a steadfast dedication to building a nursing culture driven by a commitment to safety, dignity, and healing.

Outside of work, Gina enjoys traveling to beach destinations, spending time with her dogs, and watching true crime documentaries.
